Tasting Notes: The Roagna Langhe Rosso presents an alluring aromatic profile of crushed flowers, rose petals, dried cherry, mint, and sweet pipe tobacco, with underlying notes of wild strawberry, blood orange, and a hint of tar. On the palate, this Nebbiolo offers an elegant and vibrant expression with great concentration, featuring refined, well-integrated tannins and bright acidity that provide seamless support and remarkable freshness. The wine shows complexity beyond its "entry-level" status, with mentions of wild herbs and truffle, delivering an experience often likened to a high-quality, approachable Barolo or Barbaresco.

Estate History: The Roagna winery has deep roots in the Barbaresco region of Piedmont, with the family's winemaking legacy officially dating back to 1880 when Vincenzo and Rosa Roagna produced their first bottles of Barbaresco. Over the generations, the estate has been passed down, with current proprietor Luca Roagna representing the fifth generation of the family, having taken over winemaking duties in 2001 after completing his oenological studies. The family is known for their staunchly traditional and natural winemaking philosophy, which emphasizes organic principles (uncertified), mass selection in the vineyards, incredibly long maceration times (60 to 100 days), and extended aging in large, neutral oak casks. The estate owns prestigious parcels in both Barbaresco (Pajè, Asili, Montefico) and Barolo (Pira), focusing on expressing the unique character of each vineyard's terroir.
