Estate History: The Montecariano estate is a family-run winery located in San Pietro in Cariano, in the heart of the historic Classico region of Valpolicella. The Gini family, led by Mariella Gini and her sons Marco and Matteo, has managed the property since 1992, continuing a winemaking tradition that dates back to the last century. The family is committed to sustainable practices and an integrated production protocol, believing that protecting the land and its native grape varieties is crucial to producing wines that are an authentic expression of the unique microclimate and fossil-rich soils. The land itself has deep historical roots, once belonging to Andrea Monga, a passionate archaeologist from the 1800s, adding a layer of cultural heritage to the estate's modern identity.
