Tasting Notes: The Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Tre Tine presents an intoxicating and complex aromatic profile of Parma violets, rose petals, wild strawberries, and blood orange, layered with subtle notes of licorice, anise, and mineral earth. The palate is full-bodied and elegant, offering flavors of red cherry, cinnamon, and botanical herbs, supported by a structure of firm, fine-grained, yet polished tannins and vibrant, mouthwatering acidity. This traditionally made wine combines power and finesse, building to a persistent, savory finish with great purity and depth, promising significant potential for development with time in the cellar.

Estate History: The Rinaldi winemaking heritage in the Barolo region dates back to 1870, but the current estate was officially established when the grandfather of the later owner, Beppe Rinaldi, broke away from the family business in the 1920s. Beppe Rinaldi, who took over in 1992 after a career as a veterinarian, became known as one of the last great traditionalist "Barolistas," adhering strictly to old-school methods such as prolonged fermentation in large, neutral wooden vats (tines) and aging in large Slavonian oak casks. He was a strong believer in the art of blending fruit from different historic cru sites (like Cannubi San Lorenzo, Ravera, and Le Coste) to achieve balance and complexity, a philosophy that continues today. The estate is now run by his daughters, Marta and Carlotta, who continue to produce some of the most sought-after, age-worthy Barolos in the world, maintaining the legacy of minimal intervention and authentic expression of the terroir.
