Tasting Notes: This 100% Pinot Meunier rosé Champagne presents an intense pink hue with coppery tones and a delicate, persistent effervescence. The nose is fine and discreet, opening up to exquisite aromas of ripe red fruits, crushed raspberries, and expressed citrus. On the palate, it delivers a complex and satisfying combination of power and finesse, featuring concentrated flavors of macerated strawberry, orange zest, and a hint of tart rhubarb. The wine is structured, with a creamy mid-palate texture and a long, dry, and sapid finish that reflects its very low, often zero, dosage.
Estate History: The Lagille family has a long history as winegrowers in the village of Treslon, located in the Vallée de l'Ardre of the Montagne de Reims region, with roots in the area dating back to the 17th century and formal establishment of the domaine in 1818. Today, the estate is managed by siblings Vincent and Maud Lagille, who have shifted the domaine's focus toward organic viticulture and single-varietal, terroir-driven Champagnes that highlight the unique clay-limestone soils of Treslon. Current winemaker Vincent joined the family business in 2012 and implemented a philosophy of minimal intervention in the cellar, including spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and minimal dosage, with a goal of allowing the specific plots and grape varieties, especially Meunier, to express themselves fully.
