Tasting Notes: This Lucchetti Visciola Cherry Wine is a slightly sweet, slightly sour wine that is deliriously delicious. It’s great on its own or in a fancy cocktail. The Viscole cherries used in this wine are indigenous to the Marche region. They are wild and while they are often confused with black cherries they are very distinctive. Viscole cherries are bright ruby red and are often quite sweet with a slightly bitter finish.
Estate History: Mario Lucchetti began in the 1980s with the first acres of Lacrima di Morro d’Alba, one of the local indigenous varietals in this rural area of Le Marche in the province of Ancona, not far from the town of Jesi. His passion focused on restoring the importance of the area’s native varietals.
