Estate History: La Visciola is in the heart of Lazio in the village of Piglio, just south of Rome. Here in Piglio wine production has been documented as far back as 1088 AD. The winemaking duo of Rosa and Piero Macciocca have been helming the charge at La Visciola since 2008. La Visciola sits upon beautiful limestone soils harvesting the grapes of Passerina del Frusinate, and Cesanese del Piglio. Their cru sites of Cesanese have vines that are 60 years old.
