Tasting Notes: The La Kiuva Rouge de Vallee has an intense bouquet of red fruits and delicate spice on the nose. Dry and smooth with harmonious tannins and a slightly bitter finish on the palate. Pairs well with mushroom soup, antipasti and lardo.
Estate History: La Kiuva is a cooperative of 50 grower members in the Aosta Valley founded in the late 1970’s. The word kiuva is local dialect for a ‘sheaf of leaves’ typically gathered in the fall to feed lifestock. It is also a play on the Italian chi uva literally meaning ‘who grape.’
