Tasting Notes: This unique orange wine displays a deep golden-amber hue and a complex, aromatic profile of orange peel, dried apricots, honey, and Mediterranean herbs, with a distinct mineral and saline edge. On the palate, it offers a rich, textural experience that is both full-bodied and elegant, balanced by vibrant acidity and a pleasing, slightly grippy tannic structure from the skin contact. The finish is long and refreshing, with lingering notes of tangerine and a subtle bitter almond character that enhances its complexity.
Estate History: The Keber family has been rooted in the borderland region of Collio (Italy) and Brda (Slovenia) for centuries, with Kristian's grandfather being among the first in the area to bottle wine in 1957. Following his father Edi's refocusing on native grape varieties, Kristian decided to realize his dream by working an inherited, old vineyard parcel on the Slovenian side of the border. He committed to producing only one wine—named "Brda" to express the specific terroir of the land—using organic and biodynamic principles and a non-interventionist approach including prolonged skin maceration and aging in large oak barrels to create a soulful and expressive natural wine.
