Tasting Notes: Contessa Rosa is characterized by its soft pink color, this wine features a vibrant bouquet of orange blossom, pomegranate and black plums with hints of nutmeg and basil. The bubbles are fine and persistent and the palate balances bright acidity and minerality with a touch of sweetness. Excellent as an aperitif.
Estate History: Among the splendid rolling hills of the Langhe, in the heart of Piedmont, stands the beautiful Fontanafredda estate, which once belonged to King Vittorio Emanuele II who n turn gave it to Rosa Vercellana, a commoner with whom he had fallen madly in love. An ancient love story, kept alive by the modern Fontanafredda team, with particular attention to that desire to renew and improve that which has always distinguished the company, now a point of reference in the Langa area. Here, indeed the passion for wine, for the land and for tradition finds its most concrete expression.
