Tasting Notes: This Passerina is welcoming with an abundance of aromatics. Notes of tart pineapple, muskmelon, and hints of guava can be traced but the tropical notes are followed by a bright cleansing acidity.
Estate History: From Abruzzo, Italy, Enzo, is the owner and winemaker of the Controvento winery. Controvento is a small winery from Abruzzo founded by Enzo’s father in 1978. Around 2010 Enzo took over the production and has been the sole proprietor and winemaker ever since. The vineyard is 5 hectares inside the protected area of “Fosso delle Farfalle” in the town of Rocca San Giovanni, neighboring the Adriatic Sea. Enzo prides himself on his relationship with the nature of the tiny estate and is working completely natural with a certification in organic farming. The Vinification process is done without any intervention. Without any So2, never clarified, never fined and the wines are always allowed to spontaneously ferment.
