Tasting Notes: Bruno Verdi makes some of the most underappreciated wines in Italy. Located in the Oltrepo Pavese section of Lombardia, the blend on the Buttafuoco Oltrepo Pavese is mostly Croatina, also known as Bonarda, with small amounts of Barbera and Uva Rara. The wine is ripe with dense fruits and a peppery spicy qualiity that reflects the cold and mountainous region from which it comes. This is perfect paired with a rich braised meat or seared steak.
