Tasting Notes: The Ampeleia Costa Toscana Alicante bottling is part of the "Monovarietali" project, highlighting single varieties and single vineyards whose special characteristics precluded them from blending in other wines. The grapes are sourced from a parcel called "Vigna della Pieve," with sandy volcanic soils rich in pebbles, planted to Alicante Nero, a common Mediterranean variety also known as Grenache in France, Cannonau in the neighboring island of Sardinia and as Garnacha in Spain.
