Tasting Notes: The Tenuta di Salviano Turlo a “Super Umbrian” blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot shows fresh blueberries with herbal notes of dried peppers and blackberry bush. Full-bodied with fine tannins and a well-balanced finish. Pairs well with hard cheeses, grilled or braised meats and risotto
Estate History: The Salviano estate occupies 4,940 acres surrounding Lake Corbara and the banks of the Tiber River in the heart of the Orvieto DOC production zone. Salviano is part of the Titignano estate, a much larger property under the same ownership, located across the lake in the medieval village of the same name. Built in A.D. 937, the Titignano castle and its court grew by the 17th century to include the village and the surrounding land, including the Salviano castle and its property. If this name sounds at all familiar, the Salviano property is owned by Incisa della Rocchetta family, owners of legendary Sassicaia.
